Project Fair 16/5/25
5th & 6th have been working hard for the last 2 months on their individual projects. Each pupil chose their own topic, everything from Swimming to Drifting, from Switzerland to Rock and Pop. The children planned and researched their topic, conducted interviews and surveys. They typed their project and developed their ICT skills and learned how to use the Docs to edit and present their work. They presented their project orally to the class and finally then they held a project fair where they could share their learning with the whole school community, pupils from all other classes, staff and some parents too. It was truly wonderful to see the wide range of interests and the sheer volume of what was learned due to their hard work.

Bishop Adrian’s Cathedral Service 28/5/25
Children from 3rd-6th went to Ferns today. First, they had a guided tour of the castle, followed by a trip to Ferns cathedral. At the cathedral, they met with Bishop Wilkinson and got the opportunity to speak to him about God and what faith means to them. The Dean showed them the high crosses on the church grounds and explained how archaeologists have discovered the site of the cathedral used to be a monastic settlement. The children filled in worksheets with suggestions about how to improve the cathedral. Ordinand Emma Purser led a prayer workshop for the children, where they shared their hopes for themselves, their friends and the world. Finally the bishop led a service with the help of children from some of the schools in the diocese. A great day out exploring Ferns.

Fond Farewells 17/6/25
Each year we have to say goodbye to our 6th class pupils, today was a special opportunity to celebrate and congratulate these pupils on finishing their time in primary school and wishing them all the best as they move on to the next step. Today we also said farewell to Mrs Workman as she retires. She has been an integral member of Kilcommon NS for many years. She will be sorely missed by pupils and staff alike.
