We then headed to Tinahely ‘Kare Centre’ where all those attending joined with us as we sang our Christmas songs. This annual visit is important to all of us and this stop is always the highlight of our carol singing for all the children.

The Road to Bethlehem! 19/12/23
On Tuesday 19th December, we had a ‘walk around’ school Nativity. Parents and families were led around Kilcommon school in small groups, as pupils retold the Nativity Story. In 1st /2nd classroom we traveled back in time to Nazareth meeting villagers along with Mary, Joseph and the Angel Gabriel.
Having followed our guide down the corridor, 1st /2nd classroom was transformed into the hillside where shepherds received a surprise visit from some musical angels under a starlit sky. Next it was upstairs to the 5th 6th classroom and up the hill to meet the wise men as they visited King Herod at his palace. Finally, we were led by the star outside the school and around to the stable which was located in the infant classroom where a classroom of ‘stable animals’ were present for the birth of Jesus. Much appreciated refreshments were organised by our PTA in the school hall followed this special event.A joyous event! |
