Quotation Marks
Quotation marks are sometimes           called inverted commas or speech marks.
These punctuation marks are placed either side of a word or phrase in order to identify it as a quotation, direct speech or a literal title or name.
e.g. The man said,
"I am going to the shop".
"Where are you going?" asked the man.                "John!" said Mary, "I will read the book."                "I will watch television," said Joe, "and              then I will eat."
I was reading the poem "The Cloud".
