Our school has strong parish links.  Archdeacon Ruth Elmes, is a member of the Board of Management and our school holds a weekly assembly which the Archdeacon attends.

Confirmation
As you are aware, Kilcommon National School is under the patronage of the Church of Ireland, even though its pupils may come from multi-denominational backgrounds. Preparation for Confirmation in the Church of Ireland takes place outside school hours and the dates for classes are arranged when the Bishop informs the Rector of the date for the service (generally after Christmas).
 
Should you wish your child to avail of the sacraments of  First Communion or Confirmation offered in the Roman Catholic tradition please notify your parish priest well in advance (e.g. the previous year) of this so that they may be aware of your requirement. Any arrangement re preparation for these sacraments is made directly with the Parish Priest.
