Who is on the Committee?
The Core Green Schools Committee is made up of:
  • Pupils: all of 3rd-6th Class.
  • The School Principal - Mrs Hadden.
  • The Green Schools Co-ordinators - Mrs Katus, Mrs Spencer.
  • A Parish representative - Rev R. Elmes.
  • A community representative - Ms A. Hanbridge

Sub-committees are used for specific tasks.

1.  Garden and Outdoor Maintenance Group
This group works on all aspects of the school garden, to make it a wonderful place to be.

2.  Art Group
This group makes posters, leaflets and anything we need.  Joy Furlong, Ella Olsen-Byrne, Wendy Wilson, Izabella Surkova, Saffi Vickers, Rebecca Tracey, Sarvani Kasibhatla, Freddie Swords, Matthew Doyle, Yasmin Vickers,Sheena Byrne and Cara Rothwell.

3. Assembly and Education group
This group prepares Assemblies on the theme of Green Schools and Global Citizenship and works on spreading our message to the whole school.  Columba Aide-Curran, Gavin Murphy, Roy Bailham, Ross Griffin, Aoife Byrne, Abigail Whitney, Livia McDonagh, Louise Kenny.

4.  Litter and Energy Group
This group monitors use of electricity, monitor and switch off lights and computers, collect litter and batteries and generally are the good guys.  Freddie Kelly, George Goor, Sadie Denison, Christopher Maher, Owain Doyle, Cian Rothwell.

5.  Media and Communications Group
This group decides what we need to tell people and organises how the information should be communicated, for example, taking photos, working on the website and newsletters.

How often does the Committee meet and what does it do?
The committee meets formally once a month to; review opportunities for forthcoming activities. review implementation of current plans. talk about things their peers would like included in our Green Schools plan. form task forces to work on specific projects. We also meet informally during the week (usually on Fridays) to ensure everything is running smoothly.


How does the Committee communicate with the whole school community (pupils, parents, grandparents and members of the parish)? In person - presentations & announcements to classes, in assembly and in church. In print - posters around the school. Green Schools notice board and in newsletters. In cyber world -Green Schools website page, emailed news letters and by text. IN OUR ACTIONS AND BY SETTING AN EXAMPLE.
